Emerald City Studs
Glowing green orbs of English sea glass adorn these stud earrings. The optical properties of sea glass is intriguing! Once set in silver many sea glass pebbles seem to be illuminated from within. These pebbles are a rich deep translucent emerald green. I set them in fine silver with sterling ear posts.
Each stud measures about 3/8" x 1/2""; finished to a bright satin sheen. Handmade in my Sarasota studio; Arrives to you beautifully gift boxed.
Please note;
I use a full size mannequin to model the earrings for hygienic reasons.
How to tell imitation sea glass from genuine sea glass:
Imitation sea glass tends to have a very uniform surface texture. Real sea glass often has small pits and pores in the glass that result from the glass being in a salty ocean environment. All the sea glass I use is authentic and unaltered; it has not been store tumbled or created by artificial means. It takes many decades for glass shards to be transformed into beautiful sea glass pebbles and the element of time combined with the rarity of some colors is what make sea glass precious and collectible.
