Product code: Charles Meigh & store Son Antique Ironstone Plate - Circa 1850
This beautiful antique plate shows a bit of history on its reverse side. There are two cracks in the back that were repaired using staples, a common solution prior to the invention of strong adhesives. This piece was made in England sometime between 1851 and 1861. The pattern is called Sutherland border and there is an impressed stamp on the back that reads, Improved Stone China. The repairs are not visible from the front store and this piece would look beautiful on a stand or hung as wall decor.
