A statement necklace of faceted 6mm Ametrine gemstone beads and 3mm gold-filled beads strung on 49 strand coated stainless wire for sturdiness. The pendant is a carved 16x13mm Ametrine gemstone hanging from a gold-filled bail. Gold-filled lobster clasp and hammered ring fasten the necklace. The necklace is 22 inches.
Gold-filled contains 100 times more gold than simply gold plated. It is usually considered a lifetime piece of jewelry. Under the same care as precious metal jewelry, 14/20 gold-filled jewelry will not peel, flake, or wear off. It can be treasured as heirloom pieces. Gold-filled jewelry, unlike gold-plated jewelry, can be polished and cleaned with jewelry cleaner. The layer of gold will not eventually rub off. It will not tarnish and it is safe for most people with sensitive skin and allergies.
Care and Cleaning: Clean the beads with a damp soft cloth.

Ametrine is a combination of amethyst and citrine, which are both a variety of quartz. Amethyst is clear quartz with the presence of manganese, making it purple. Citrine is clear quartz with the presence of iron, making it golden yellow. Ametrine was not readily available on the market until the 1970s when it was discovered--or re-discovered--in Bolivia. The legends say a Spanish conquistador discovered the ametrine mine in the 1600s when he received the land after marrying a native princess named Anahi. He sent several specimens to Queen Isabella of Spain ... and then the mine was lost for centuries. When it was rediscovered, it was named after the legendary princess, whose land it once was.
Ametrine is said to be the complete balance of the properties of amethyst and citrine. As a stone of both balance and connection, ametrine is believed to relieve tension, bring serenity and stimulate creativity, as well as balance mental stability and self-confidence. Ametrine is considered a double boost to remove toxins from the body, as both amethyst and citrine are detoxifiers.
