Vintage Evening store Jacket Tailor-Made from Antique Silk Brocade

This one-or-a-kind vintage jacket is made from antique silk brocade fabric that was brought from China by a returning American in 1937 after the Sino- Japanese War. The fabric was store later made into a ladies evening jacket by a tailor in New York City in 1986. Consistent with the style of the 1980's the jacket has large shoulder pads. The fabric is an opulent red with patterns in silvery gold thread. The collarless jacket has five black embroidered buttons down the center front for closing the jacket. The jacket lining is black silk. The size is a women's medium. The model in the photo is 5'5”.
