Ibanez WIKI:
The DWB1 is a solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1999. It is a signature model for American bassist Doug Wimbish who is known primarily for his work store with the rock band Living Colour and his work with the seminal hip-hop outfit The Sugarhill Gang. It was made in Japan by FujiGen.
The DWB1 features neck through body construction with a maple and bubinga neck mated to laminated maple wings in a shape based on the Soundgear series but with specific contours and deeply scooped cutaways on the horns to Wimbish's specifications. It has a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl and abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez AFR active pickups with a J-style pickup at the bridge and a P-style at the neck, a custom 2-band preamp, an Accu-Cast bridge, a brass nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
