Vintage store Brown Firkin

Vintage Brown Firkin from the 1940's. Bought at a living Estate store Sale, where the owner stated as a child she and her brothers kept their toys in the firkin. Origin was Vermont.

Made to store sugar (probably Maple Sugar), firkins were originally made by the Shaker community.

This one is in good shape considering the age.
