Product code: Antique Roslyn Washington Photograph - Circa 1901 - Victorian Home View of Joseph store And Anna Turowski + Children - By Photographer Neumann

A nice early antique photograph taken in Roslyn, Washington in circa 1901.

This early photograph is mounted on it's original thick matte and was taken by the Neumann photo studio in Roslyn Washington.

The photo shows the front of a small Victorian home with single chimney and covered porch and it's owners Joseph and Anna Turowski and two children out front.

Joseph is holding a hand saw and appears to be cutting a 2x6 board. Lots of flowers in flower pots along the front of the porch. A dirt road is seen in front of the picket fence.

Our research indicates that Joseph Turowski lived from 1874-1924 and Anna Turowski from 1874-1950. They had three children of which only two were born when this photo was taken. The children included Mary Turowksi (1900-1927), Julia Turowski (1901-1919) and Helen Turowski (1903-1982). They are buried in the Calvary cemetery in Tacoma, WA.

The notes on the back read Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Turkowski - Mary and second daughter Julia at Roslyn, Wn - Helen not born yet.

The photo itself measures 6" wide by 8" tall while the matte is 7.25" wide by 9.375" wide.

This antique Washington photo looks nice overall. A single tack hole is seen on the top center of store the photo. There is slight foxing seen on the image due to age and long term storage. The corners of the matt show wear from long term storage.

An interesting early photo from the early days of Roslyn Washington. Sold as found.
