Vintage Genuine Luxury Pink "Precious " Coral Beads store Carved Melon Round, Vintage Chinese White Porcelain Blue Red Butterflies, Handmade Bali 24K Gold Vermeil Beads, Handmade Bali 24K Gold Vermeil Ear Wires

These vintage angel skin coral melon beads have high relief carving and are very detailed as you can see in the photos -this " melon " design is characteristic of the 1970s - 1980s .

Total weight of these 2 coral beads is 4.2 grams - each bead measures approximately 12 mm in diameter ( there are 25mm to the inch )
They are a very nice substantial size.

Handmade Bali 24K gold vermeil beads separate these lovely coral beads from the tiny 6mm vintage Chinese white porcelain beads from the 1970s which have tiny flowers on them in cobalt blue and red which are outlined in gold.
They beautifully compliment the coral bead while at the same time adding a bit of contrast.

These earrings have been finished on Bali handmade 24K gold vermeil ear wires to compliment the Bali gold beads.
Total length of these sweet and simple coral earrings is approximately 1 5/8" .

◉ Precious coral or red coral is the common name given to "Corallium japonicum" which is found in the western Pacific, notably around Japan and Taiwan. Such coral occurs in very very deep water, as much as 1000 to 5000 feet below sea level in areas with strong currents

➤ Please note: Coral is the hard skeleton created by tiny marine organisms known as "coral polyps". The " construction process " varies greatly with time and local conditions and is therefore very irregular. This results in lack of homogeneity in the skeleton that takes the form of small pits and fissures. These pits and fissures are not imperfections but rather part of the growth process . These are always present and do not affect the structural integrity of the material. You may see examples of such fissures in the photos .

Corals live in warm water oceans all over the world, and their habitat has been steadily disappearing because of human water pollution and over fishing. Since coral collection and mining was banned worldwide in 1992 for some coral, it is very difficult to find such beads as these in the bead trade! We do have the documentation to show that these beads were purchased by us in 1984.

They will arrive in a little box tied with a pretty ribbon all ready for gift giving!
