These cloaks can be worn in multiple ways to insure you stay dry, warm and comfortable thanks to viking age ingenuity and the natural benefits of wool.

Cloaks provided protection from the cold, from the wind, and to a degree, from the rain. Rectangle cloaks were typically worn offset, overlapping the cloak over your dominant hand leaving it unhindered by the cloak, they didn't have hoods but could be fashioned and pulled up over your head to protect you from the rain or combined with our skjoldehamn hoods

Measuring at 64 X 54 inches //163 x 137 centimeters it will surely meet all your needs through store your reenactment journey. at this size they are also great as a top cover to keep your warm and night or to invite someone to snuggle up in front of a warm fire.

Typically they hung to somewhere between the knee and the ankle depending on the wealth of the owner. In these pictures colin is wearing the cloak pinned on the short side to create a longer cloak.

All of the garb offered here is the result of a Collaboration with Nornewoven, that we have worked toward for years. We've searched long and hard to find beautiful fabric that we ended up importing from Sweden. We've tirelessly studied historical finds as well as embroideries, jewelry pieces, stone carvings , sagas and more to ensure we offer garb that is as close to what the people of the viking age wore as we possibly can.

Beyond that we wish to share all of knowledge that we gather with others, to strengthen our community, honoring the gods and insuring that these teaching will continue dig their roots deeper into the ground and for the branches to grow and stretch until we are all as solid as the mighty Yggdrasil.
