store A large round synthetic Alexandrite gem is centered on this vintage 1970s large chunky machine age styled sterling silver ring. The faceted stone measures approx. 16.9mm in diameter with a 9mm depth. It has a very slight change of color, with change in light. In some occasions (as in my photo lights) it appears as a deeper periwinkle blueish-purple color; When in natural light it shifts to a more light aqua blue color. If you've owned one of these stones before you probably know what to expect.
The Alexandrite is bezel-set in an elaborate heavy and tall sterling silver setting. A deeply ribbed industrial styled design frame the lovely gem above a deep gallery. The ring is finished with a hefty 6.9mm wide sturdy band. The inside is stamped "925" (sterling silver).
The ring measures a large size 11.25 and could be re-sized somewhat by an experienced jeweler. The setting is in good vintage condition with expected surface wear scratcehs and patina. The synthetic Alexandrite has tiny flea bites/surface wear along facet edges and could use a better cleaning to underside of stone. When this piece was gently cleaned some of the water residue dried on the surface underneath. Please see photos for condition and below for detailed measurements.
