Hailing from a mindspinning variety of original sources, authentic sea glass comes in every color of the rainbow and each shade in between, manifesting in an astonishing array of configurations and forms. And while genuine white sea glass is ordinarily relatively commonplace, milky opalescent exemplars are extraordinarily rare, and surf-tumbled ohajiki tiles -- a kind of flattened, typically textured coin-like glass disc used to flick other players' brightly colored tiles in a game similar to marbles -- are even more uncommon. Given these facts, the two opalescent marvels used to create this handmade necklace are not only exceptionally scarce, but also unique among my collection! Smoothed and fabulously frosted only by time, the surf, sand and salt, these exquisite ocean gems have been upcycled into a unique, double-decker choker necklace. Handcrafted with a focus on highlighting the innate beauty of the partially transparent, partially opaque glass and designed to reflect its eternal majesty, the largest (measuring between one-half-inch and three-quarters-inch in diameter) gem features a different delicate ribbon of minty green on a luminescent, milky white field on each side, with a sturdy sterling jump ring securing it to an elegant, three-dimensional sterling silver infinity symbol from which a smaller (measuring one-half-inch in diameter) ohajiki tile displaying a striking, zigzag-like vertical stripe of beautiful ocean blue visible on either side dangles. With an additional hole in the top tile, another strong sterling jump ring attaches the pendant to a handfashioned, 14-inch-long Italian-made sterling silver rolo chain with a spring-ring closure. A 2.5-inch-long sterling silver curb chain extender finished with a .925-stamped sterling silver circle tag allows for easy adjustments from 16.25 inches to as many as 17.5 inches long (Note: Please contact us for longer or shorter chain needs). Designed to be worn in either direction and absolutely stunning in any light, this one-of-a-kind, double ohajiki choker necklace makes a scintillating and impressive statement day or night!

Created after decades or centuries of tumbling across craggy ocean floors, no two pieces of authentic sea glass (or ohajiki tiles, for that matter) are exactly alike. Since each piece is very literally unique, I can't help but think of sea glass as snowflakes of the salty seas! Indeed, finding these two opalescent ohajiki gems in such complementary hues of opalescent green and blue was akin to hitting the proverbial jackpot, but the reality is equal parts luck, diligence and patience. I spend hours meticulously sorting my finds in a dogged pursuit of pieces that are not only the same or complementary in color, but also very similarly shaped and sized. Many would find my efforts overzealous, but I am passionate about delivering only my very best work.
