This large stoneware jar is by Richard Abnet (1934-2011), who worked out of a studio in a barn on his rural property near Stillwater, Minnesota starting in 1961. He was a founding host potter of the St. Croix Valley Pottery Tour until his retirement in 2004. The jar has excellent proportions and features a warm pale yellow glaze. It is signed store Abnet in slip on the foot. There are no other chips, cracks, or glaze flaws.
