Product code: Etching - store Poet

The poet keeps writing, conscious of his own imminent demise.

'He lay within, in beds of overcast and wandering thought, nervous and motionless...' (A.F. Moritz)

This etching is inspired by one of my illustrations for 'Sound of Hungry Animals', a limited edition book with poems by (Griffin Poetry Prize winning) writer A. F. Moritz. Published by rufus books ( and available through their website ).
The figure of the poet is a quote from the painting 'The Poor Poet' by the German painter Carl Spitzweg ( 1808-1885 ).

Etching on beige BFK Rives printing paper, print size 13 x 31 cm ( 5 1/8 x 12 1/4 inches ); paper size larger; edition limited to 40 copies, this print store no. 6 / 40; hand-signed and numbered, hand-printed on my own etching press.
