A British antique pearlware jug with brown transferware depicting Grecian urns, a lake and boats dating from approximately 1820-1830. It has detailed scenes store decorating both sides, the rim, foot, and handle. The base has an embossed number 6 and a label, possibly from a museum or a private collection.
Measures approximately 5 1/2 inches high, 3 1/4 inches at the lip, 5 1/2 inches spout to handle. 2 7/8 inches at the base
This jug is in excellent condition. It has a small chip on the rim and minimal surface wear. There are also a few manufacturing flaws in the glaze of faint blue dots, appropriate for it's age as well as the type of material from which it is made. There is also some faint yellow residue on one side, probably from an older label. I have not attempted to remove it. I will let the new owner decide how best to deal with it but.
