This is a handmade, vintage gelatin silver print made with a view camera. View cameras date back to the mid-19th century, and are large format cameras that can produce an image that is incredibly sharp, or add areas of selective focus and blur.
This image of a fallen branch in the forest was made on a trip to Southern Maine in the late 1990s. It was printed in my darkroom on warm tone store fiber-based paper and then toned in selenium, to enhance the archival quality of the image and impart a nostalgic, historical feel. As I no longer work in the darkroom, any future prints I might make of this image will be printed digitally. This is the last analogue, toned version of this print available.
Image size is 7" x 8 3/4" printed on 8x10" paper. Signed and dated on the back.
It will come within a protective sleeve against a hard backing. Matted and framed, this print will look beautiful in any room!
I will also be adding more vintage prints from this collection to my newly opened store, so please stay tuned!
