Isn't it wonderful to find old industrial pieces like this and create interesting and dramatically contrasting uses for them? I see this old industrial parts bin used to organize things a hundred ways to give new life to this unique piece. I think this tray was probably used in an industrial setting, in a factory, either store to hold parts or work-in-progress parts. Perhaps the tray was simply used by a machinist to corral his or her tools. Whatever its original purpose, the bin maintains its strength and integrity and appeal today. One of the unique and interesting features of this old bin is that it was made by folding metal. If you look closely, the construction is similar to a wrapped present, with folded ends and corners. There are dents, dings, and two holes, as you can see in the pictures. This has had a tough life, but it has more to give! The bin measures 19 1/2" long x 10 1/4" wide and about 4 3/4" high. The inside measurements are about 16" x 8" x 5" when measured at the bottom, where the sides taper inwards. It weighs a hefty 9 pounds.
