This is a really interesting little trophy that was found in an old St. Louis estate. This trophy features a small silver plated two handled urn mounted on a black stepped base with an applied plaque on the front. The plaque states: "2nd Place Kyoto Army Hospital Tennis Tournament Double". The plaque on the front has been hand engraved and shows some wear in the silver plating. The Army Tennis trophy is unusual in it's size and how it's been made. I have never had another one like it. It is just as it was found in the estate, I have not tried to polish the silver or clean it. The trophy dates from the 1940s to the 1950s and measures 5 1/2" tall. It is 3 7/8" wide with the handles. The base is 2 3/8" square.
