The silver cat bead measures 0.3 inches (8mm) wide, 0.65 inches (17mm) long, and weighs 0.27 ounces (7.6 grams.)

To make the model for this charm bead slide, I started by turning, on a hand held lathe, hard wax into a tube with the right size hole, which is 5mm, for the chain. Then I added another type of wax to the outside of the tube to get the features of the little cat. This involves adding and subtracting wax until it looks the way I want.

Once the wax model was handmade, there were rubber molds and wax castings made for the lost wax casting process, which yields sterling silver castings of the kitten. They are oxidized and hand polished to bring out the detail in the sculpting. All production is done in the USA!
