This bespoke piece of sculptural art was crafted using all natural bamboo from our chemical and pesticide free grove in Ohio, USA. It has a multilayered and enticing organic form, with different moods depending on the angle of view and the lighting, as well as the ability to cast dramatic shadows.

It is about 35 inches tall and weights a bout 2 and a half pounds, 2 of which come from the heavy metal cog wheel, repurposed as a base for this piece. A wooden dowel secured in the bamboo tube is a perfect pressure fit for the base, allowing it to be picked up without falling apart, yet able to easily separate. We use various artistic techniques to open flame heat treat our bamboo, which not only enhances it's visual appeal but improves it's durability and longevity. The main element is a single piece of bamboo that grew unusually one sided. In essence this piece has been "folded over" with both ends plus the branches tucked tightly into the large bamboo tube, which was then filled with hot glue painted black.

We immediately recognized this as a perfect store fit for a spa or massage therapist office, or perhaps a salon, medical office or eclectic restaurant. Maybe the centerpiece at a luau or tiki table, or a dramatic entryway statement lit by lights and casting wild shadows across the area.

This one-of-a-kind piece is just simple bamboo, yet makes me feel like I'm at a fine museum, walking around a particularity engaging piece of art, enthralled by the lines, form, volume and transparency. It's humble, it's beautiful, and it can never be duplicated. A truly awesome display of American grass!
